Use of Stunt Harnesses

The use of stunt harnesses can become a very grey area when it comes to apllication and selection of the appropriate equipment for the job.

Genereally Stunt Harnesses fall into the following "use" categories:

  • Flying Harnesses: with metal pivot point or soft pics.

  • Ratchet or Jerk Vest: for puliing people through the air somtimes in a violent manner such as with an air ratchet....other times just used to guide the performer through the use of guide lines and such to place them at a certain mark in a certain visual manner.

  • Swivel Harnesses that allow 360 degree rotaion of the performer on camera to replicate more complex body movements that other harnesses cant offer. These consist of a ball bearing metal hoop with an incorporated seat or full body harness.

  • And Finally all other types of harnesses. These can include stock harnesses from other sports or trades, modified retail harnessses,  and everything in between!
